TRANQUIL Paste is a unique formulation of all essential nutrients and cofactors necessary to calm nervous or exciteable horses in situations where athletic performance may be reduced because of increased agitation and nervousness. This includes situations such as travelling, strange or unfamiliar racetracks or competition venues, unusual crowds and noise, etc.

Indications
TRANQUIL Paste contains the amino acid L-Tryptophan, plus all of its essential co-factors. Tryptophan is converted in the body to Serotonin, a major neurotransmitter (a chemical involved in transferring messages within the brain). High Serotonin levels result in a feeling of satiety, and help to induce feelings of relaxation and calmness. Tryptophan is known for its ability to calm nervous or exciteable animals, so that they do not waste energy and electrolytes.
TRANQUIL Paste contains a number of additional co-factors to improve energy supply during exercise, and thus exercise performance. Potassium & Magnesium aspartates improve endurance and delay muscle fatigue and cramping. Thiamine (Vitamin B1) is intimately involved in using carbohydrates for energy. Riboflavin (Vit B2) helps the mitachondria in cells actually produce energy for muscle contraction. Nicotinamide (Vit B3) is involved in increasing the availability of glycogen as a source of energy, and the breakdown of fatty acids. Pyridoxine (Vit B6) increases the ability of red blood cells to offload oxygen into muscle tissue for energy production, and is also involved in the breakdown of muscle glycogen for fuel. Folic acid is vital to muscle repair, and Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant to reduce muscle damage during hard exercise.
These effects combine to improve the mental state of nervous or exciteable horses, and thus improve exercise performance.

Dosage and Administration
Give 10 - 15 mL TRANQUIL Paste 24 hours, and again 3 - 5 hours before competition or travelling.

TRANQUIL paste is regularly used in combination with other Nature Vet products as required.

Trainers Tips:
Travelling Horses:
Many horses become very agitated while travelling, often to the stage of dehydrating. This can dramatically reduce their subsequent exercise performance. Try using 10 - 15 mL TRANQUIL Paste given 24 hours, and again 3 - 4 hours before travel. Make sure horses have access to ENERGETIC ISOTONIC POWDER dissolved in water whenever they need it, if dehydration could be a problem. Use in combination with TRIPART paste pre-transport to reduce fatigue associated with travel.
Nervous & Exciteable Horses:
Horses which ?¢‚Ǩ?ìrun their race?¢‚Ǩ? while in stables and yards before events will rarely perform to expectation. Use TRANQUIL Paste 24 hours before, and again 3 - 4 hours before stabling to maintain calmness and relaxation.
THIASAL E powder fed daily in food provides additional Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), which may assist in calming horses on a daily basis.
TRANQUIL Paste can be used pre-event or before travel, in combination with THIASAL E, or with bolus (injectable) VITAMIN B1 supplementation.
TRANQUIL Paste contains no prohibited substances.
