Herbal antioxidant paste to minimise cell damage during exercise.
Composition
GINK-GO2 is a herbal antioxidant to minimise cell damage during exercise.
GINK-GO2 PASTE is a standardised herbal extract of Ginkgo Biloba.
It will not interfere with other nutrients in the diet.
Features and Benefits
Strenuous exercise causes muscle and cell damage!
During exertion stressed cells release large amounts of peroxides, superoxides
and hydroxides (free radicals) which lead to muscle and blood vessel damage.
GINK-GO2 helps reduce this damage because of its potent antioxidant capability.
Indications
Muscle power is generated by the conversion of the energy in ATP to the mechanical
force of muscle contraction. The store of ATP in muscle is limited to the provision of ATP for just a few seconds of strenuous exertion in a horse. During exercise, ATP must be regenerated continuously, primarily by conversion of muscle stores of fat and sugar (glycogen) into energy.
Most of this conversion occurs in the presence of oxygen, and very strenuous exertion (e.g. sprinting) can release very large amounts
of superoxide free radicals, peroxides and hydroxides. These damage every cell they contact.
This damage from free radicals is the major source of continued muscle soreness and weakness an athlete can feel for days after heavy exercise.
Athletic horses at maximal exertion use up to 20 times the oxygen of a resting horse.
This means much larger amounts of free radicals in exercising athletes.
The free radical damage does not stop when exercise stops. They then damage cell membranes (which contain a lot of fats). This leads to pain and inflammation.
The damaged cell membranes and fats generate more free radicals, which in turn do more cell damage. As soon as free radical damage occurs, the animal?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s
immune system activates to try to fight the damage. The white blood cells try to mop up the cell damage, but in doing so, many of the white cells are damaged!
This causes even more free radicals. Vitamin E is very effective at reducing this cell membrane damage, and Vitamin C is also required to help reform the Vitamin E.
Selenium is also required in this pathway. These are all antioxidants.
GINK-GO2 contains some of the most potent antioxidants known, so minimizing muscle and cell damage significantly, and more effectively than most other antioxidants.
Dosage and Administration
GINK-GO2 PASTE is given at a dose rate of 8 g orally (two graduations of the paste syringe plunger) 3 hours before strenuous exertion. GINK-GO2 can also be given immediately after work to improve recovery.
GINK-GO2 is safe to use with all other supplements and antioxidants. It contains no prohibited substances.

General Notes
Key Features & Benefits:
* GINK-GO2 is a potent, natural herbal antioxidant.
* All exercise creates free radical damage to muscle and blood vessel cells.
* GINK-GO2 reduces free radical damage.
* Reducing free radical damage improves performance by increasing endurance and delaying muscle fatigue.
* Antioxidants significantly improve recovery after hard exercise.
Trainers Tips:
Antioxidants:
Are essential to reduce cell damage,
particularly to muscle and blood
vessels, which occurs after any exercise.
The more strenuous the exercise, the
more the cell damage from free radicals.
Adequate training reduces the likelihood of
free radical damage, but antioxidants are
always required by the body.
GINK-GO2 is one of the most potent
antioxidants available.
Recovery:
Give GINK-GO2 3 - 5 hours before
strenuous exercise, and again
immediately after hard work to reduce
the muscle recovery time. Try combining
GINK-GO2 with RECOVERY PASTE,
ENERGETIC , TRIPART or COPHOS B,
at recommended dose rates, depending on
your requirements.
Standardbreds in particular show improved
performances when supplemented with
GINK-GO2.
